Already Heraclitus of Ephesus said: The only constant thing in life is change. Many of us are afraid of it. Change is connected with 'unknown'. For me it means 'another surprise and new fantastic adventures.'
I have to admit that changes amuse me. I easily adapt to new situations. It often takes 3 months. That's why I'm looking forward to change. Willingly. I hug it. I know I'm free. If I don't like the place, work, the situation I found myself in, I put another step forward without second thought. .
Last week I broke up with Alejandro - my former Mexican boyfriend. It turned out, that we have a different approach to important matters, such as the role of women in the family. We parted peacefully. Of course, we've both invested a lot in our intense, though short relationship. There is a slight disappointment in me, although I do not regret the attempt. Without A. I wouldn't know Mexico, and I love Mexico!
I couldn't leave my beloved Mexico so quickly so I moved to Puerto Vallarta. It is a city on the coast of Pacific Ocean. Very touristy, full of expensive hotels, nightclubs, restaurants and pubs. At the same time, it has a lot to offer: numerous beaches, hills, culture, the most beautiful sunsets. I came here in the perfect season to watch whales. Humpback whales live in the bay from December to mid-March. I saw them from the beach 3 days ago, today I had the pleasure to observe dolphins in the wild. If you go a block away or two from the beach, you'll discover real Mexico and its people.
I will stay in Puerto Vallarta for at least a month. I am helper in the hostel. For 4.5 hours of work a day, I get bed in a shared room and breakfast. I work at the reception desk, clean up and spend time with guests. The atmosphere is very nice here.
On Saturday I finished 3 weeks of vegetable and fruit diet of doctor Ewa Dabrowska. There are another 3 more before me so for now I can't enjoy local cuisine. I don't have scales here, so I'm not sure how many kilos I lost. However after first 8 days I lost 3 of them. I feel good.
I will going to visit family in Poland for Easter. Before that, I will either extend my stay in Puerto Vallarta or visit the United States for a few weeks. In May I am going back to Ireland - I'm going to work in a hotel for 5-6 months to earn money for further travels. I dream of India and Sri Lanka for longer...
